In May this year I bought a dwarf alberta spruce tree. I also bought some evergreen fertilizer stakes. Is there some other food that I should be giving the tree? They are green and have grown some but I think they should be bigger by now. Thank you.

A dwarf Alberta spruce will not grow very fast so don't expect miracles! Evergreen fertilizer stakes should take care of your spruce for the next 2-3 years so other than regular watering, you shouldn't need to do anything else to your spruce. I think you'll see new growth next spring - probably only a few inches of new growth. That's the beauty of dwarf plants; they grow slowly and they never get very large.

Enjoy!
