This is a large beefsteak type of tomato and, like many heirlooms, can take 85 to 95 days to harvest -- so it is still a bit early for them to be ready. Blooming is a good sign. I would not bother removing suckers, the more foliage the more energy the plant will have, although it is a matter of personal preference. On the good news side, it is an indeterminate type and will continue growing and bearing until frost. Enjoy those tomatoes!
