The Q&A Archives: vegetable garden

Question: Something is eating up my collard greens. The leaves are full of holes and the plants are not thriving..Help!!! I spray monthly with Veg Insect spray; Squirrel Beater Solution & etc. nothing works!!!!

Answer: You might be dealing with caterpillars. Check the plants at dusk or in the early morning when caterpillars are most active. If you find them, hand pick and destroy or use the botanical Bt (bacillus thuringensis) which is sold as Dipel.

Best wishes with your collard greens!
