Do I need to deadhead spent flowers on my gaillardia plants? Also, do I need to do anything for them over the winter? Thank you

Marilyn,

You can deadhead them to make the plants a little more attractive if you like, but deadheading is not necessary. They will normally overwinter fine, but don't like poor drainage.
