We have grown an avocado tree from a seed/pit. It is
now 4 feet tall. Can it survive if planted outdoors?
We live in the Northwest Florida panhandle about
30 miles inland. Any planting hints?

Avocados are tropical plants which will not do well in North Florida or the Panhandle.

We have a plant, here in Jacksonville, that we grew from a seed. We have had it for 2 years. Last year it got killed back, but with our mild winter this yearit lived through the winter. It is a good conversation piece. We do not expect it will live long enough to bear fruit. Avocados grow to be quite large trees.
