The man who mows my lawn has a new helper who misunderstood his instructions and weed eated my whole garden. I lost day lilies, mums and dianthas. He took them all the way to ground level and there is no sign of plants. Will they come back? Should I just start over and if so, what should I plant for some quick color in front of my house? |
Angel, Wow, that is really too bad. The lilies will probably return from the ground in time, but the dianthus and mums will probably not. They will need to be replaced. Now that it is late summer I would put in some of the large flowered marigolds as they will provide dramatic color right up to the first frost. Then you can put in pansies, violas and dusty miller, or some ornamental kale or ornamental cabbage. Sorry to hear about the tragic blunder and your loss of plants. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
