The Q&A Archives: transplanting daylilies

Question: What is the right time of the year to move/transplant a day lily in my region of the country?

Answer: The best time would be in early spring as they begin to grow for the season. This allows them the longest period to re-establish during the growing season. You can also do it in late summer/early fall, preferably allowing at least 8 weeks before the ground is expected to freeze.
