Why do my impatiens plants grow well until the end of July, and then suddenly start to wilt and die as if they need watering? This happens every year to some of my plants and I would like to know why? |
Impatiens get heat stressed and wilt during the hot summer months. They are better used as cool season color spots in the garden. Plant them in early spring and then again in early September for best performance. Or, try some of the newer heat resistant cultivars such as Blitz, Impact or Super Elfins. Best wishes with your garden! |
