My sister just bought a house with a beautiful assortment of trees that provide approx 90-95% of her yard & house with shade. The problem is there is no consistant covering of grass (has a lot of clover) and her yard seems to remain a

Sheila,

St. Augustine is the best choice for that much shade. It may be that the area is too shady for even St. Augustine. She may also need to consider trimming some limbs from the trees overhead to brighten the shade and give the grass a better chance.
