| You are correct about gradually exposing them to more and more sunshine so they can adapt if they have been previously growing in a shady spot. You didn't mention that before or I would have included that information in my first reply. It shouldn't take too long to help the plants adapt. Begin by giving them just a little morning sunshine each day and then setting them in the shade. Every 2-3 days you can increase the amount of sunshine - say from one hour to two hours, then from 2 to 3 and so on. In a week or two they should be able to stand 6 hours of sun, which is enough to keep them blooming. As for replanting now, you can do so. If you wait, the roots will be intertwined but it should be easy enough to separate them. Simply rinse the potting soil off and then set the roots in a bucket of water. Swish the plants around and the water will help untangle the roots. When both plants are free, pot them up in individual containers. Best wishes with your roses! |
