Two oak trees were planted in my front yard about two years ago. After the first season some of the branches were missing quite a few leaves. After the second season even more branches are bare......but the leaves that are on the remaining branches appear quite healthy. Any suggestions to promote leaf growth on the bare branches. Thanks, Tony |
As long as the new growth looks healthy, there's really nothing you need to do to encourage additional foliage. As your tree matures it will have more stored energy in the roots and will be able to produce more and more leaves each spring. If you're really impatient, you could prune the bare branches back next spring to promote additional branches and new leaves. Best wishes with your landscape. |
