We recently started a exiscape plan for our lawn. We had all the sod removed, laid down weed control black landscaping fabric and then 2 inches of pea gravel over that. There is one weed which I was told is nutsedge. It keeps coming back horribly! The only product that supposedly kills it will also kill all plants and prevent me from planting others for a year. Do you have any other way to remove this obnoxiuos and very invasive weed?

Barbara,

Your best option is to apply glyphosate (Roundup is an example brand) with a wiper applicator whenever you see it pop up. If you will be diligent to stay on it you can win but it will take some time. This rainy season really caused nutsedge to proliferate in your area. The following web site shows how to make a homemade wiper applicator:
