For tropical hibiscus being grown in a container, a complete fertilizer such as 10-10-10 plus minors should be fine. You can use either a slow release granular form or a water soluble form. Read and follow the label directions for how much to use.

For hibiscus planted in the garden, a general purpose granular fertilizer or slow release granular fertilizer such as 10-10-10 should be adequate. Top dress with compost and use an organic mulch to help feed the soil slowly on an ongoing basis as well.
