| Tough tomato skins have more to do with variety than with cultural practices or environmental conditions. The newer varieties have tougher skins; the heirloom varieties have thinner skins. If you crave a tomato with a thin skin, try growing Mortgage Lifter (an heirloom variety) or Sungold (a newer hybrid). Hope you have a grate harvest! |
