Answer: The insecticide you use will depend upon the bugs that are feeding on the leaves of your plants. Not all insecticides will work against all pests. If you don't know what the critters are, collect a few in a plastic baggie, seal it up and take it to your local garden center or Cooperative Extension office for positive identification. Helpful folks there will give you a list of control strategies and you can decide which pesticide you want to use. Make sure the pesticide lists both the pest and the plant you intend to use it on and you should be able to control the critters without harming your plants.
Best wishes with your garden!
