The Q&A Archives: Care

Question: Should I cut myscanthus back in the winter?

Answer: Yes, ornamental grasses need to be cut back once a year. You can do it in late fall after frost has killed the top, or you can wait and do it in the winter or early spring. Try to get it cut back before it starts to grow for the season, usually about when the daffodils bloom.
