The Q&A Archives: To deadhead or not?

Question: I have several clematis vines in my garden. After they bloom, should I remove the curly pods that are left behind? I have been leaving them because they offer such an unusual sight.

Answer: Suzanne,

You can leave them if you like the look of them or remove them if you don't. The plants don't really care.
