The Q&A Archives: Asparagus Relocation

Question: I have a couple clumps of asparagus that I would like to relocate, When is the right time?

Answer: Asparagus should be moved in the fall or winter, after the tops have wilted and turned brown. If they haven't begun to grow their feathery leaves yet, you can safely move them now. Be sure to prepare the new bed before you transplant, by adding lots of manure to the soil.
