My 4o'clock flowers are blooming good. However, most blooms are dropping off before forming a seed. What might be the cause?

The seeds develop after the petals drop off, so you may be looking too soon. There should be a bulge (ovary) at the base of each flower where the seed forms. It will swell and eventually dry out, with a seed rattling around inside. The seeds are quite big, about the size of a small pea. I hope this helps.
