A propagator set up for rooting cuttings or germinating seeds can be enclosed to keep the immediate area humid, or it can have a mister to keep it damp. It might also have a source of gentle bottom heat such as heating cables to encourage plants that need especially warm soil to germinate or root. There are many different designs and gardeners who do a lot of propagation will have their personal favorite(s) depending on which specific plants they work with most often.
