Kangaroo Paws are native to Australia and grow best in hot, dry climates. They won't perform well if the humidity is high or temperatures are low, such as you'd find in the Pacific Northwest. You can treat them as summer annuals in your gardening region or as houseplants. Indoors, they need bright light (3' from a sunny window), and moderately moist soils.
