| My lawn person is recommending using herbicides to create a blank slate before I begin my xeriscape garden - he says that he will use something that kills established weeds on top of soil to roots below without harming new incoming plants. Is it possible to kill weeds at the roots without killing the nutrients in the soil? |
| Linda, Yes it is. I think it is a good idea as once you get new plants established you don't want to be fighting persistent perennial weeds. I suspect he is planning on using a product with glyphosate as the ingredient. This breaks down quickly in the soil. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
