The Q&A Archives: moles

Question: Can I spread moth balls around my flower bed to deter Moles and insects?

Answer: Moles are somewhat beneficial in that they help aerate the soil. They do not harm plants. So, they would not need to be controlled unless their tunnels are causing a dangerous situation where people walk. If that is the case, trapping is usually the most effective solution. Moth balls are not recommended as they can be dangerous to children, pets and other animals. Here is more information about moles and controlling them. You may need to cut and paste the complete url into your browser to make it work correctly.

I hope this helps.
