I'd like to know what type of fertilizer to apply at this time of year on a bermuda (419) lawn that is only about 4 months old. Also, is it best to use a chemical weed controller, or is it best to just pull the weeds? I think it's something like Dallis grass that is giving us a problem. Thanks for any advice!

Nancy,

Apply a fertilizer with a 3-1-2 or 4-1-2 ratio of nutrients or something close to that. Examples would be 15-5-10 and 16-4-9. Apply 1# per 1000 square feet of lawn area. Don't apply weed killers now that it is so hot. Just do the hand digging. It helps a lot to water the area well before digging so the weeds come out easier.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
