The Q&A Archives: flowering trees

Question: How can I increase the size and abundance of flowers on my crape myrtle trees?

Answer: Crape myrtles flower on the new shoots of the season so to increase the probability of new flowering shoots, prune your crape myrtle in spring, just as new growth begins. When the flowers begin to fade you can prune your tree again and it should bloom a second time, later in the summer.

Best wishes with your landscape!
