I accidently cut the vine close to the top of where I plant it thinking that it was something else will it grow again and produce melons? 8

A single vine is produced from the seed and as it grows longer it develops more vines, coming off the original vine. If you cut it off at ground level it probably will not grow again. It would be better to plant new seeds and start all over again.
