Hello,
I am a new home owner in Buffalo, NY and I would like to add some color to the front of my house, most likely in two 24

August is the most stressful time of year for planting in the garden so I would recommend you wait until September for that. Also, in making your selection, do not expect your container plants to survive the winter outside. You might try a smaller ornamental grass along with seasonal flowers such as ornamental kale, mums or pansies, once the weather turns cooler and they become available. These could go in the ground or in containers. Or, right now you could try some of the heat loving tropicals such as mandevilla, lantana, or hibiscus in the containers. These can be brought indoors for winter if you want to save them for next year. Bring them in when temperatures drop below 50 to 55 degrees. Enjoy your new home and garden!
