| Based on your description I am not certain which pest would be causing this. Sunflower moth larvae can damage echinacea flowers, grasshoppers could damage them, and tarnished plant bugs can sometimes damage the buds as well. I would suggest you work with your local Cornell county extension to try to identify the pest and based on knowing that, decide what to do. |
