How should I care for my gardenia so it will bloom in the spring?

For flower buds to form, the gardenia plant needs night temperatures of 60F to 65F degrees and day temperatures of 70F to 75F, and careful watering. Keep the soil moist at all times using soft, tepid water. To help prevent bud drop, mist the leaves frequently.
