The Q&A Archives: Scotts Summerguard

Question: I put Scotts Summerguard on my Lawn as directed but it has now turned brown with very little green. Help. What should I do now. I am very unhappy as that stuff costs $43 bucks. Will my lawn return?

Answer: Scott's Summerguard is a high nitrogen fertilizer with an insecticide to control surface pests. It needs to be applied with a drop spreader at the rates indicated. Over-application can burn the lawn, but proper application rates will not burn the lawn. I would water the lawn frequently to leach out excess salts. Your lawn should green up once you've removed the excess fertilizer.

Best wishes with your lawn.
