That pot sounds okay to me. The issue with too large of a pot is that when you saturate the soil it stays too wet for too long because roots have not yet filled all the soil areas. I think your plant is either suffering from transplant shock or it is a water extreme such as dry or wet conditions that brought this on. Try to let the soil dry out a bit and then water moderately. This will give the plant the best chance of recovering. It doesn't need to be misted. One more thought is that if the light levels where you have it are dramatically different from the levels where it was in the garden center this may be part of the reason for its stress response.
