The Q&A Archives: Silene Lumina

Question: Last fall I transplanted a Silene Lumina to my yard from a deck pot. It hasn't bloomed or growned much ever since. What could be the reasons?

Answer: It doesn't sound very happy. Your plant needs full sunshine and loose, well draining soils. If it isn't growing, it is struggling in the soil. This fall I'd choose the sunniest spot in the garden, amend the soil with organic matter and then replant. By next spring it should grow well and flower all summer long.

Best wishes with your garden!
