Once you've removed the moss, you can install a zinc strip along the ridge of the roof or you can plan on using a moss killer once a year as a preventative treatment. Other than trimming trees to keep needles and leaves from falling and sticking on the roof, and pruning to create more sunlight and open air circulation, there's not much else you can do. Because of the high rainfall, roof moss will grow on roofs in the Pacific Northwest.
