When is a good time to plant Pony Plum trees in the fall?

We have Crape Myrtles trees this summer sum trees are not blooming. The area where the blooms are is just a stick with no blooms.Connie

Fall is an excellent time to plant landscape trees and shrubs. Roots tend to establish more quickly when temperatures are cool and rainfall abundant. Be sure to water your newly planted trees once each week if rainfall is sparse.

Crape myrtles bloom on new shoots so pruning your trees back in early spring and again in July should promote new flowering growth. Don't prune now - it's too late in the season.

Best wishes with your landscape!
