I have seen a plant that looks like a corn plant but the leaves are wider and it gets a beautifulpurple flower on the top of the plant. It may be a type of lily. Do you know what its name might be?

Jane,

I can't tell exactly from that description but your mystery plant may be a type of ginger. Try doing a Google search for Curcuma ginger and see if this might be it. It may also be a type of crinum.
