I love purple fountain grass but don't know much about it. Is it a perennial? I live on the North Shore of MA. What kind of soil does it like and what kind of light?

Pennisetum setaceum 'Rubrum' or purple fountain grass is not winter hardy in Massachusetts so you would have to grow it as an annual and replant each spring. It needs full direct sun all day long and evenly moist yet well drained soil to do well.
