My lawn has weeds and bald spots everywhere. What can I do now to prepare it for a prettier and healthier lawn by next spring and summer.

Now is a good time to begin to rehabilitate your lawn. Start by either digging out the weeds, roots and all, or using a weed and feed product. Then rake the bare spots and broadcast grass seed over the entire lawn. Water frequently to keep the soil moist so the grass seeds will germinate. They should sprout in 7-10 days. Next spring your lawn should be in better shape and you can encourage lush, thick growth by fertilizing 4 times a year and watering deeply once or twice a week (depending upon weather).

Good luck with your lawn!
