The Q&A Archives: Plum Tree

Question: I planted 3 plum trees all at the same time. Two of them are about 15 feet tall but one is about 5' tall and has brown spots on the leaves. What can I do to fix this problem?

Answer: Without seeing the problem, I don't know whether it is a fungal or a bacterial leaf spot. You can use a fungicide to protect the foliage from developing additional leaf spots. Next spring you'll want to use a preventative fungicidal spray just as the leaves unfurl. Be sure to follow label directions for application.
