I am interested in putting trees in my garden and want to know which trees are best suited for a coastal garden, which is very sandy?

Here are a few choices:
Cercis occidentalis (California Redbud)
several types of Eucalyptus
Gingko biloba
Jacaranda
Lagerstroemia amabilis (crape myrtle)
Liquidambar
Avocado
Pine
and, of course, citrus trees.
