I HAVE A LONG BARE SPOT ABOUT 5 FT WIDE AND 20 FT LONG. I BOUGHT SQUARES OF ST AUGUSTINE GRASS AND WAS TOLD TO DIVIDE IT INTO 6TH OR 8TH AND PLANT THEM 6 INCHES APART AND THEY WILL SPREAD. ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS AND NOTHING. SOIL IS SANDY. WHAT SHOULD I DO OR AM I JUST IMPATIENT.

Only two weeks since planting? I suspect the little clumps are still trying to get their roots established. Once that happens you should see lots of top growth and stolons creeping out from all around the clumps. It will take a little time, so just be a little more patient. Best wishes with your new lawn!
