Appropriate shrubs to plant - Knowledgebase Question

We live in the central valley,ca. What shrubs and or ferns would do well around sequoia trees. We have several in the back and are going to get rid of the grass and plant shrubs. Thank You, Pam Messer

There are a number of plants you can use around your sequoia trees. Consider arborvitae, clematis, daphne,euonymous, forsythia, hawthorn, astilbe, begonia, bellflower, orange hawkweed, hosta, pansy, phlox, marigold, primrose, snowdrop, sweet woodruff, trillium, hydrangea, lilac, viburnum and zinnia.
