Yesterday I sprayed the lawn with Ortho Weed-Be-Gone to rid myself of clumps of crab grass and oxalis. Can I plant grass seed after I have killed the crabgrass? Should I soak lawn and pull out the dead crabgrass before seeding. What is the recommended seed to plant.

Thanks for any help.

It would be best to rake out the crabgrass and roots and then reseed so the seeds make good contact with the soil. This way the roots will establish quickly. Fescues and Kentucky Bluegrass are recommended varieties for your area. You didn't identify the grass type that is already established so for continuity's sake you might consider overseeding your entire lawn, not just the bare spots. This will provide a more uniform appearance.

Good luck with your lawn!
