The Q&A Archives: Shade Climbers

Question: Is there a plant or vine that climbs and can live in mostly shade?

Answer: Because of the lack of direct sunshine your choices are limited, but Trachelospermum jasminoides (Star Jasmine) and Parthenocissus (Virginia Creeper) will work in a mostly shady area. Star Jasmine will bloom most reliably and is evergreen. Virginia Creeper is deciduous. Best wishes with your new vine!
