| I wish to plant annuals close to Lilies of the Nile in full sun. Can you suggest low growing (no more than six to eight inches tall) plants that can take the temperatures ranges in this area? (If possible I prefer to plant either pink of white annuals.) |
| There are annuals for all four seasons. Right now you can plant alyssum, ornamental kale, dwarf snapdragons and Icicle? pansies, which last until late winter and start blooming again in early spring. For spring and summer color, Vinca is a compact annual with shiny leaves and flowers that look just like impatiens. It?s an ideal edging plant as is dusty miller, ageratum, and alyssum. Annuals that spread horizontally or cascade when planted in containers include trailing verbena, potato vine, bidens, fan flower (Scaevola), lotus, million bells (Calibrachoa), Surfinia and wave petunias, swan river daisy (Brachycome), sanvitalia, licorice vine, bacopa, laurentia, and anagallis. |
