| Trumpet vine or Campsis radicans will bloom best in a hot sunny location with full direct sun all day long. In a shady site it will bloom less. It does well in average soil, and sometimes excess fertilization will encourage foliage growth at the expense of blooms. IF grown adjacent to a lawn that is regularly fertilized, for example, it would not need any additional feeding. Also, this plant blooms on the new growth of the season. Any pruning should be done in early spring before it begins to grow for the year. Pruning during summer will remove flowering wood or buds. I hope this helps you trouble shoot. |
