The weeds are overtaking the sod we put down in the spring. How do I get rid of weeds without damaging the lawn? |
The best things to do are make sure the soil conditions are optimal for the growth of turf grass and mow correctly to help the grass grow as densely as possible. Annual weeds will die out this winter. Perennial weeds can be spot treated using an herbicide containing glyphosate. Or, you may need to use a broadleaf weedkiller. Always read and follow all of the label directions. You may want to work with your local Cornell extension to trouble shoot the lawn and your maintenance routine. In the meantime, their web site provides a lot of information you may find useful. http://www.gardening.cornell.e... |
