I have started Burpee Purple Coneflower. I put the seeds in seed starting mix and into the refrigerator for germination. Is the refrigerator too cold to start the seeds? Please let me know fast as the seeds have been in the 'fridge for about a weeknow.

Seeds of Echinacea, the Purple Coneflower, will germinate best when given a chilling (the refrigerator is fine) for 2-3 weeks. Take your seeds out of the refrigerator at the end of this period and put them in a warm place, like on top of the refrigerator, so they will sprout. They may take 10-21 days to sprout. Once sprouted, put them in a brightly lit area until they're ready to go into the garden.
