My miniature meyer lemon trees are losing all their leaves even though they are loaded with fruit. I have fertilized them with citrus fertilizer as directed and kept them well watered. They are in a well lit window but not in direct sun.

It sounds as though you're giving your lemon trees just the right care so the dropping foliage can be the result of dry indoor air - or perhaps your trees are near an air duct where cold air from an air conditioner is hitting them directly. Over fertilization can also cause leaf drop. It's easy to over-fertilize plants in containers. Next time, use a water soluable fertilizer such as Miracle Gro and dilute it to half-strength, but feed them twice as often. I feed mine every 3-4 weeks with a half-strength dilution of Miracle Gro and they thrive. Move your plants if they are in a draft and be sure to keep the soil consistently moist. If the roots are healthy the trees will develop healthy new foliage. Let's hope for the best!
