When is the best time to prune apricot, peach and nectarine trees. One of my neighbors has trimmed a portion of my apricot tree in mid August yet the leaves have not fallen is this safe to do now, and will it give fruit next summer?

Stone fruit trees should be pruned in late winter or early spring; pruning in the summer should be avoided, if possible. Rather than go into detailed instructions on how to prune, here's a website that explains the process and has sketches to guide you: http://www.coopext.colostate.e...

You may have to copy and paste the address into your browser's address bar.

Best wishes with your fruit trees!
