| Passiflora blooms on new growth of the season, so pruning it is not a problem as far as blooming performance. I hope you are growing a species that is winter hardy in your area -- many of the passifloras are not very cold tolerant. Since the old vine may offer some winter protection/insulation for the roots, I would suggest leaving at least some of the old vine intact until spring. Also be sure to mulch very heavily in late fall. Provide some wind protection for it as well if it is in a windy location. Good luck with your passionflower! |
